What Shall One Give
Flute, oboe, bassoon, and string quartet - 13 min
What Shall One Give opened a lot of creative doors in my mind and was written in a unique fashion. It was initially established as a string quartet, but after composing five minutes of the piece, I knew I wanted to achieve more musical opportunities. While writing, purity, beauty, playfulness, and simplicity all sat at the forefront of my curiosity. There is a lot of childlike nostalgia coming from this piece. This is one of my favorite pieces I’ve composed due to its wide variety of my compositional interests.
